Say goodbye to bringing your KTP! Now, you can simply use your face to board your train. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has launched a convenient face recognition registration feature through their Access by KAI app. This means no more fumbling with your ID or physical tickets at the boarding gate.
"We provide this face recognition service through the Access by KAI application to simplify customer access to our services, making it easy, efficient, and convenient," explained Vice President Public Relations KAI Anne Purba, according to a press release issued Friday (13/9/2024).
Registration is a breeze! Just follow these simple steps:
- Open the account menu tab on the Access by KAI app.
- Select the Face Recognition Registration menu.
- Carefully read the registration terms and conditions and click "Agree" after understanding them.
- Double-check your personal data like Full Name, NIK, and Date of Birth. Click "Foto Selfie" to complete the verification process.
- Follow the instructions for taking a clear selfie. Click "Ambil Foto KTP" to take your selfie.
- Once your selfie and personal data are complete and accurate, click "Daftar Sekarang" (Register Now).
- Confirm the data you provided, then click "Yes, Register" to finish the registration.
- Congratulations! Your registration is complete.
Good news for train riders: KAI has expanded its face recognition boarding gate facilities to 19 stations across Java and Sumatra. This eliminates the need to show your ID and ticket at the gate, making boarding smoother and faster.
Face Recognition Boarding Gates are equipped with cameras to identify and validate a person’s identity using their face. This process is seamlessly integrated with your ticket information and vaccination status.
"The verification process only takes 1 second, which significantly improves the boarding queue flow," explained Anne.
